The Veterinarian's Oath

"Being admitted to the profession of veterinary medicine, I solemnly swear to use my scientific knowledge and skills for the benefit of society through the protection of animal health, the relief of animal suffering, the conservation of animal resources, the promotion of public health, and the advancement of medical knowledge.

"I will practice my profession conscientiously, with dignity, and in keeping with the principles of veterinary medical ethics.

"I accept as a lifelong obligation the continual improvement of my professional knowledge and competence."

(Adopted by the AVMA House of Delegates, July 1969, amended by the Executive Board, November 1999)

Dr. Gregg Stephan

Practice Owner

Dr. Gregg was raised in Jefferson, Wisconsin and attended the University of Minnesota and the  University of Wisconsin - River Falls earning his B.S. in Biochemistry in 1985.  He then entered the University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Veterinary Medicine where he earned his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1989.  After working in Madison and Elkhorn in southern Wisconsin for a few years, he bought the Merry Veterinary Clinic in Sun Prairie in 1994.  The Merry Veterinary Clinic, owned by Gordon Merry, DVM, was a well-established, and respected mixed animal practice in Sun Prairie for 32 years before Dr. Gregg bought it!  He did a major building remodel in 1997. We are very proud of the fact that Dr. Gregg and the Animal Hospital of Sun Prairie have won the "Best of Sun Prairie" Best Veterinarian contest sponsored by our local newspaper, The Star, again in 2009 - the 10th year in a row!!.  Dr. Gregg shares his home in Token Creek with his girlfriend, two daughters, Carli and Samantha, 2 black labs; Cleo, and Abe.  His time away from work is spent with his family and friends, boating, hunting, fishing, yard work, biking, following sports (go Badgers! go Sun Prairie Cardinals!) and coaching basketball and softball for his daughters.
